Jess & Jaco Pieterse - Wedding
Second Shooter: Ashleigh Kruger
Hair & Make-up: Kiss And Make Up
Groom & Groomsman styling: Sweeney The Barber
On the 02/12/2017, I had the enormous privilege of photographing two very special people to me. I’ve known Jess from when I was in my early teens and then saw Jaco win her over when they started dating. So from the start this one was definitely going to be a goodie!
Their wedding took place at Macnut Farm Wedding & Function Venue in the heart of Bothas Hill which was incredibly unique with their intimate outdoor ceremony space / Capel and really “out there” reception decor. The venue is scattered with hidden spaces that are really well suited for the couples creative shoot and we didn’t have to travel far to find something that was perfect for what I was looking for. From a photographers perspective, a challenging aspect was definitely the length of the reception area. Longer than it was wide, it was a struggle to find good angles that weren’t directly in the guest’s faces or have shooting points that weren’t intrusive to someone sitting close by, you move around a heck of a lot. However, their overhead white draping made for a perfect make-shift soft box for when I brought my speed light flash out, which conveniently stretches through out the entire room.
A big highlight at this wedding was the groom & groomsman preparation being held at Sweeny The Barber in Umhlanga Rocks drive the day before the wedding. It was really interesting to shoot in such unique business setting and it made for some really different photos.
Congratulations on your marriage, Jess and Jaco Pieterse!
